Tints, Tones and Knit Two (colours) Together

Friday, June 21 from 1:30 to 4:30  All levels

Many knitters find it difficult to choose colours. This class will show you how to put colour theory into practice, so that those scary sounding terms make sense. You will look at colour temperature, tonal value, complementary and analogous color schemes along with many other terms. But once you get playing with colour you will see how the theory can be a helpful underpinning. In combination with the colour exercises, instruction will be given on stripes and slip stitch techniques used for working with multi colors.

Materials: part balls (a few yards each) of medium weight yarns, bring as many colours as you can and are willing to share, pair of yarn appropriate needles, squared paper coloured pencils (optional).  Homework: none.

For students who are unsure of how to work the Fair Isle method instruction will be given.

Materials: part balls (a few yards each) in medium weight yarns, bring as many colours as you can and are willing to share, pair of yarn appropriate needles, squared paper, coloured pencils (if you have them).  Homework: none.
